Meet Sherlyn, one of our psychologists
While doing my degree, I had the opportunity to intern at a special needs school. It was from there that I discovered my passion for working with children. I enjoyed it so much that i stayed on even after my internship officially ended. Seeing how each child was so special and unique in their own ways, with varying interests and abilities made me realize that every individual required a different approach.
From there I went on to complete my Masters in Psychology at Bangor University, UK. When I returned, I took on more internship positions, in a Mental Health Institute and at a private Child Development Clinic. During my internship at the private Child Development Clinic, I had the opportunity to work together with a multidisciplinary team consisting of Paediatricians, Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Psychologists. Through that I gained more insights and knowledge to the role each of these professionals play, and how the team comes together to fulfill the needs of a child.
After my internships, I went on to work briefly at a private inclusion pre-school setting. I am very glad to have found my way to Children's Partnership. I am motivated to continue learning and training, to be able to do all I can for every child and family that I work with.
Together with the team, it will be my privilege and pleasure to go on this journey with you.
